Hi, YABCers!

Today we’re super excited to celebrate the cover reveal for Obsidian and Stars (the sequel to Ivory and Bone) by Julie Eshbaugh, releasing June 13, 2017 from HarperTeen.

Before we get to the cover, here’s a note from Julie:

Hello YABCers! I am so excited to be here today to share the cover of OBSIDIAN AND STARS with you! OBSIDIAN AND STARS is the sequel to my debut novel, IVORY AND BONE, and honestly, I can’t decide which of the two covers I like the most. I personally love everything about the cover of OBSIDIAN AND STARS, especially the way it both matches and contrasts with the cover of IVORY AND BONE. All the credit goes to artist Sean Freeman and designer Erin Fitzsimmons—the same great team behind the cover of IVORY AND BONE. Also, like the cover of IVORY AND BONE, this cover hints at something that happens in OBSIDIAN AND STARS. I hope you love it as much as I do!

And of course, a huge THANK YOU to the team here at YABC for hosting the reveal! You guys are the BEST!!!

xo,

Julie

About the Book

In the riveting sequel to Julie Eshbaugh’s debut novel, Ivory and Bone, scorned adversaries and deadly politics threaten to wreak havoc on the life that Kol and Mya have planned together.

Now that Mya has vanquished Lo and her people, she is ready to become Kol’s betrothed and begin their lives as a couple. On the night of their marriage announcement, however, Mya learns the devastating news that her brother, Chev, the head of their clan, wants to marry their youngest sister, Lees, off to his friend Morsk. Mya wants to save her sister from a future of unhappiness, but the only way to do so is to take her spot. Unless…

Desperate to protect her sister, and her own future with Kol, Mya runs away with Lees to a secret island until things at home blow over. But what Mya thought would be a safe hideaway turns out to be the opposite, as rivals from long ago, armed with sinister intentions, have followed her there. With the lives of her loved ones on the line, Mya must make a move before the enemies of her past become the undoing of her future.

I absolutely fell in love with Ivory and Bone! I had it the day it was released and read it within a week. I am even more excited for Obsidian and Stars. I cannot wait to pick up where I last was, with Mya and Kol’s romance and now this strange turn of events. I need to know how this is going to progress! My heart goes out to poor Lees, but I know that Mya will come through in one way or another. The cover of Obsidian and Stars is even more captivating that I had anticipated and is calling my name!! Thank you for this giveaway!

OOOH I love the cover! I really loved the first cover too, but this one is perfect with it! The synopsis sounds quite intriguing, too! Especially the island part, that could get VERY interesting in prehistoric times!

I love the cover and the synopsis!!!

The cover surprised me somewhat because I assumed a book with the word “obsidian” in the title would either have an all black background or have more black in the objects pictured. I do like though how it echoes the cover of the first book. They definitely complement each other.

One of my most anticipated releases for next year!!
