Today we’re super excited to celebrate the cover reveal for THE STARS TURNED AWAY by Lisa Maxwell, releasing February 2, 2016 from Simon Pulse. Before we get to the cover, here’s a note from Lisa:

 

Hi YABC! And welcome to the exclusive cover reveal for THE STARS TURNED AWAY! I’m so excited to finally be able to share this cover with you all. When this book sold back in 2014, it was called HEARTLESS THINGS, but the team at Simon Pulse had an idea in mind for the cover that required a new title. Many, many months and emails later, we decided on the perfect one—THE STARS TURNED AWAY—and then I finally got to see the cover they’d had in the works all along. I’ll admit, when I was writing the book, I didn’t really have a sense of what I’d want for a cover. “An island, maybe?” I thought vaguely. But when I saw the gorgeous, finished cover, I was blown away. I hope you are, too!

As Gwen struggles to remember where she came from and find a way home, she must choose between trusting the charming fairy-tale hero who says all the right things and the roguish young pirate who promises to keep her safe.

 is the author of Sweet Unrest and Gathering Deep. She grew up in Akron, Ohio, and has a PhD in English. She’s worked as a teacher, scholar, bookseller, editor, and writer. When she’s not writing books, she’s a professor at a local college. She now lives near Washington, DC, with her husband and two sons.

    I’m loving this cover! It’s eerie and creepy, and it matches the synopsis perfectly. I need this book yesterday. Peter Pan is one of my absolute favorite stories, and I can’t wait to see Neverland turned on its head in this book!

    I LOVE this cover!! It’s simple, but there’s just something about it that draws your attention. Love the font and the floating tree. I can’t wait to read this one!!

    The cover looks really good. It somehow reminds me of Neverland, because it’s not a place you can easily access, and the plot looks really interesting. I also like that the main characters are both girls.

    The cover’s really interesting and represents the idea of being constantly uprooted because of her mother’s fears very well. The synopsis sounds interesting, but the cover really drew me in.

    Oh my goodness! The cover gave me goosebumps. It’s so beautiful and looks so haunting! I love the font on the cover. It’s so eye-catching, I would definitely pick it up in a store! The synopsis pulled me in and I need more!!
