Get ready to feast your eyes on a stunning full jacket reveal, YABCers!
Today we’re super excited to celebrate the cover reveal for WAITING FOR AUGUSTA by Jessica Lawson, releasing May 10, 2016 from Simon & Schuster Books for Young Readers. Before we get to the cover, here’s a note from Jessica:
I’m so thrilled to be revealing the cover of my third middle grade novel, Waiting for Augusta. When I learned that the cover art would be done by Kenard Pak (https://www.facebook.com/kenardpakart), I was SO excited to see what he came up with. The natural feeling of his artwork and the fact that watercolor painting is important to my protagonist made him the perfect choice. This is a book about second chances at connection and it has elements of magical realism, and I think that comes through with the starry skies and—wait, I’m spoiling it! Never mind! But I do have to tell you that I absolutely adore the cover that Kenard and book jacket designer Lizzy Bromley have come up with, and can’t wait to share it!

Oooh! This looks amazing!!
Love the font and cover art, the premise sounds intriguing too.
I love the cover–you have serious good fortune with your cover designs, Jess. 🙂
And even though I’m not a big golf fan, the synopsis totally makes me want to read the story, even if I didn’t already love Jessica’s other books!
Amazing cover! Love it! I love how it goes across the back as well and the book sounds great!
So neat that this book has golf in it! I’ve not read that in a MG before. And that beautiful font and the stars just make my heart SO happy.
I love the cover and I’m already a big fan of Jessica Lawson’s writing! I’d love to read this book and also read it to my kids. The first line…a golf ball in his throat…so descriptive. Fabulous.
I think the cover and synopsis has lots of appeal. It is something that I would want to read.
