Did you know there are 350 dog breeds in the world? 101 Dogs An Illustrated Compendium of Canines is a beautifully illustrated book that showcases a variety of breeds from the very popular to the more unusual. The book begins with a background of the different types of dog groups.

Each page in the book profiles a different dog breed that includes the history of the breed and specific characterizations of that breed like their temperament and grooming needs. This book features some of my favorite breeds like the Golden Retriever and Siberian Husky, but mixed breeds did not have their own individual pages. I would have liked to see breeds like the Golden Doodle get its own spotlight and hope they make another book. Each dog breed is illustrated beautifully, making this book visually appealing.

101 Dogs An Illustrated Compendium of Canines is wonderful resource to learn more about a variety of dog breeds and is a book that can be enjoyed by children and adults.
