Reading about the continuing adventures of Anne Shirley (and of course Gilbert!) is like settling in with an old friend for a long, lovely chat. The writing is beautiful, Anne and the cast of characters are vivid and memorable, and the reader's investment in the series continues to grow. A sequel that is just as magical and charming as the first book.

This book is the sequal to Anne of Green Gables. Anne's story continues and we see that she is a schoolteacher. Also, Anne is good friends with Gilbert Blythe in the story. And Marilla adopts twins when their sick mother dies. These are just a few of the events in the story. I think this book is a good addition to the series. It is really a great book. READ IT!!!

This book continues through Anne's later teen years. There is a new addition to her family in the form of two little children. Also her love for her childhood friend Gilbert continues to grow. Anne continues to grow as a person and after deciding to stay at Green Gables longer to help Martha she gets a job as a school teacher where she becomes a success after hard work.

A beautiful book that will make you want to read the rest of the ones in the series. So I really recommend this book although obviously it would be better if you read the first one as this will be rather confusing without it.

Being from Prince Edward Island I have read all the Anne books. Anne is a big thing on the Island and everybody knows the stories. This books deals with Anne's teen years and her getting her education as a teacher.

There are lots of funny things that happen to her and her friends and especially about her love for Gilbert who has been her friend since she came to Avonlea.

Did you know that there is a musical made from the books?

a homely book... I like it because it has quite a lot of description... and because of its humourous episodes of Anne as teacher... and, of course, because Gilbert is Anne's friend.. I like the plot, and the end too... practically, this book is faultless! An old-fashioned sort of book.
