Lulu Dark is the anti-Nancy—a chic, tough-talking city girl who never meant to get involved in a mystery.

But when her favorite purse is stolen during a Many Handsomes concert, Lulu knows she has to get it back. After all, it was one of a kind—and the lead singer's phone number was stashed inside! Lulu dives deep into the fray along with her friends Daisy and Charlie, and discovers a twisted mystery involving a rock star, a rich socialite, a loony landlord, and a serious case of mistaken identity.

Lulu Dark is a sarcastic come back artist, a teen with a keen fashion sense, and best of friends with Daisy and Charlie. Her life is going along pretty much as expected until her favorite purse is purse-napped! Her perfectly tacky knock-off one-of-a-kind purse. This means war.

The first and most obvious suspect is her arch-rival Rachel. Talk about snarky! But that doesn't pan out and Lulu finds herself following increasingly mysterious clues. Who is this 'Sally Hansen' girl that seems to be everywhere? What happened to Berlin (a weird classmate last seen at the site of the crime)? Why are there reports of Lulu hanging out and partying with some snotty society chicks when she can't even stand them?

Throughout the whole tangled mess, Lulu manages to keep her head (mostly) and her good spirits (well, usually). As they scamper from one caper to another, she finds out some things about herself and her friends, especially Charlie. What to do about your best guy friend crushing on you? At first, deny everything, in Lulu's case. Then try and sort out your own feelings on the matter.

This is a fun and witty adventure that teens are sure to enjoy. Some unexpected twists and turns will keep readers on their toes and they are sure to want more of Lulu after the last page is turned. I recommend this book for ages 12 and up. I'm sure we'll be seeing more of Bennett Madison, receptionist extraordinaire.

This is a very interesting mystery about Lulu Dark. She is a normal girl that isnt like any other girl detectives. Everything about her is normal. When someone steals Lulus favorite one-of-a-kind purse, she isnt very happy about it. Her two best friends, Daisy and Charlie, are here to help. However, she loves her purse and wont let someone take whats hers. She is stuck in a complicated mystery with many twists and turns including a rock star, a crazy landlord, and a ton of misunderstandings.

I picked up this book not very sure what to expect...I just thought the cover was cute. It turned out to be great. Like a mix between Sammy Keyes and The Clique.

The mystery aspect of it was great because you never know what could happen next though sometimes they can be stuffy and boring. This book however is the complete opposite of stuffy and boring. Lulu was hilarious!

Allover this was a wonderful book. I would recommend this to anyone between the ages 10 and 14.

Omg!!! Terrific!! Everything about this book is amazing. The story, in my opinion, is the new age of Nancy Drew, but better. The twists and turns kept going throughout the whole thing. There were so many things i wasn't expecting to happen. I love the main character, Lulu, because it reminds me of my friend and coincedently, her name is Lulu too! The plot was very well planned by Bennett Madison. I thought i wouldn't like this book that much because of the title. But it turns out that i loved it and how it fits together with the storyline. So basically, i learned that looks or titles in this case, can be deceiving. So DON'T doubt this book by looks or anything like that. You'll have lots of fun reading and guessing what's going to happen next every chapter. I also gave my friend, Lulu, this book after i read it, she went crazy that there was a book named after her! She told me after she finished it, that she absolutely loved it. So if she loved it, i bet you'll enjoy it too. 5 stars goes to this book

I really liked this book--lulu has attitude haha. It was a really cute story with the whole psycho girl and whatever. It was written from Lulu's point of view, and it was really convincing, it sounded like a real teen writing. And I swear it was leading me on--I kept coming to different conclusions about who the bad guy was, then I changed my mind like a million times, and i was wrong anyway.

I finished this book today and I have to say Bennett Madison has got talent as a writer. It's one of those books that you dont want to put down.
Even though I'm no longer a teen I still enjoyed reading about Lulu and her 2 friends go on a crime solving spree. I can't wait to read the sequal out next year.
