If you could go back in time, where would you choose to go? Would you want to change something? See something? Or just go back to a simpler era? In The Golden Hour, the choice is yours.

When Nina and Rowans mother dies, their father sends them to live with their two aunts in Owatannauk, Maine. After meeting the aunts, Nina and Rowan go exploring. On the beach they meet a set of twelve-year-old twins named Xanthe and Xavier. The four of them quickly become good friends. A few days later, they decide to investigate an old abandoned hotel in town, but they are surprised to find something totally different than what they had expected.

Rowan, Nina, Xanthe, and Xavier find that this hotel has a secret portal that can take them all back in time whenever they want! Its a hard decision and only Nina knows where she wants to go. Unfortunately, she sneaks away at night without telling anyone else where she is going.

Now Rowan, Xavier, and Xanthe have to figure out where Nina went and then go on a mission though the portal to find her!

The Golden Hour by Maiya Williams is a great book about an old hotel, a secret portal, friendship, teamwork, and a journey though time. I liked this book because it is very imaginative and descriptive; the characters all have different personalities and it is full of adventure. Also, I thought it was cool that the author made two of the main characters African American.

The Golden Hour is exciting from start to finish and left me wanting to read more of Maiya Williams adventures.

This is the greatest book! You can really get stuck in it, and you'll never want to put it down. So, what do you think would happen, if you went back in time, and you can only get back within one hour, the Golden Hour? What if you can't make it?...........
