Olivia, or Liv, has a serious penchant for embarrassing herself, especially in front of the famous or influential. But shes hoping that wont hold her back as she spends her summer interning for an übercool TV music station&in London! Surely, some of the übercoolness shell be surrounded with will rub off, right?

Well&in fact, Liv manages to get stuck in a revolving glass door and fall flat on her, er, bum in front of one of the hottest pop stars in the world&in her first hour in London. But somehow, Josh Cameron seems to think Livs embarrassing quirkiness is cute. Can it be that he one of the A-List stars actually wants to hang out with Liv, the Abba-loving, dancing superfreak from Ann Arbor?

That does in fact seem to be the case, as Liv continues to run into Josh while on the job at Music Mix. But hes not (amazingly) the only boy on her mind. After all, theres the oh-so-cute Colin, a native English guy with a charming accent. They really seem to get along, but is he or is he not involved with Rebecca, her überhorror of a roommate?

Thank goodness theres also Anna, her other roommate, though Anna has issues of her own to deal with (like a mother whod rather she not waste her time with an internship at Music Mix). Even Anna and Colin, however, are only so helpful when it comes to Livs internship spot the decidedly un-coveted spot of personal assistant (i.e. slave) to Brown (Simon Brown, but he insists on being called just Brown).

Hows a girl to keep her sanity and her derring-do as she hops between her stressful (but cool) job, dates with the super-hot but self-involved Josh, run-ins with the ever-demanding Rebecca (can you say high maintenance?), and mixed signals from Colin? Ill tell ya by being true to herself.

Dancing Queen is a really fun book with some nice comedic and romantic moments. Youll definitely find yourself rooting for Liv (and Anna and Colin too) and cheering when she stands up for herself. I loved the scene when she finally gives Josh a piece of her mind (I dont feel too bad giving up that detail; I promise it wont ruin any of the surprises in the book there are quite a few!). Shes a girl with a good heart&as well as some good dance moves! Recommended for readers aged 12 and up (older YA readers, dont let the low end of the age spectrum sway you; youll love this one too!).

I don't know, but I just felt that this book lacked something that made me feel anything towards the characters. The characters themselves first of all felt flat, and in the end, the main character, Olivia, didn't really show true signs of deep character development. The changes weren't anything that truly touched me or left me wanting more, and in the end, I just felt disappointed in the novel. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone unless you are really bored.

this was a good book and i enjoyed reaing it.

olivia gets accepted to intern at Music Mix Europe in London for the summer and she's uber excited. she's looking forward to working at music mix and mingling with all the starts, but things dont go exactly as planned. when she gets there, her first encounter with pop super start Josh Cameron is not exactly what she had hoped it would be. at music mix, her job as an intern is to assist Brown, Simmon Brown, with all his unusual and useless needs. other than brown troubles, olivia "liv" deals with relationship troubles. after going on a date wiht josh cameron(surprise surprise) she's falls head over heels for him, but what she doesnt realize is that she's actually into another intern, colin.

i would recomend this book to girls 13+

This is a book about a 17 year old Michigan girl named Liv, who goes to London for an internship one summer. One of her reasons for going is to see her dead mother's birth place and get away from her "mean well" father. She learns how small a London flat, or apartment, really can be with a Texas pagent girl in it and her pet rat, I mean really small, hairless dog. Liv is up against celebrities pushy attitude and dealing with Brown, her demanding boss. She somehow manages to get a date with Josh Cameron, a huge movie star. Little does she know that her "mate" Colin is interested in her as well. It takes her a while with the wrong guy for her to realize how wrong she was about movie stars. This book shows that true friends do come along and I recomend it to anyone.

Seventeen-year-old Olivia has barely been out of her native Ann Arbor, so when she lands a summer internship in London at the hottest TV music station, she can't wait. Of course, her first day on foreign soil, she ends up knocked over by a revolving door in front of the hottest male rock star of the moment: Josh Cameron. Combined with her hah-ri-bul Texas beauty queen roommate, Liv thinks that this is not quite the auspicious start she had hoped for. But her other roommate, a sweet Swedish girl, becomes her ally, and the other interns are fun to hang out with. Plus, Liv is the assisstant to the head of the entire station. So when she and Josh meet again, and he asks her out, it's like the icing on the cake. Who wouldn't want to go clubbing and dancing with the hottest rock star at the hippest spots? But slowly, Liv realizes that Josh seems a little to phony -- and self-absorbed. As much as she loves his attention, she's not sure he's the one for her. Even if the music scene isn't your thing, this book, with great characters, a fun plot, and a great message, will be.

I'm a fan of the Simon Pulse Romantic comedies, and I loved this book. It was really funny and the story was interesting - it's one of my favorite books in this series. I actually found myself laughing out loud a lot. It was a quick, easy read, and I liked that it was set in London. The characters were great (Rebecca was really annoying, but really funny too!).

This book really didn't do it for me. Its a good idea but it was really badly written. The main character goes to an internship in London and meets international superstar Josh Cameron. She is suprised when he shows interst in her. In the end i just couldn't finish reading it.
