It's 7 months after Forever Odd and Odd is a guest at St Bartholomew's Abby, trying to find peace. Odd sees a bodach, a monk goes missing and Odd is attacked all in the beginning of the book. This book introduces many new characters that will leave you wondering who you can trust. Another important character is Jacob, and autistic boy who tells Odd about the "Neverwas." Along with the creepy bodachs, Odd also discovers some unknown creatures made from bone that can shape-shift. As more bodachs appear, signaling danger soon, Odd and the monks try to set up a fortress against whatever evil is coming. This book is truly intriguing and the pace is set perfectly. This book experiments with different types of reality and is very suspenseful. Odd doesn't disappoint in this book, and Elvis finds peace while another great singer introduces himself to Odd. Don't miss it!
