Of all the Little House books, this is the one that I truly rediscovered as an adult. When I decided to reread the entire series in my early twenties, I didn't have much recollection of this book. As soon as I started reading, it quickly became one of my favorites of the series.

One reason why I loved this book so much is because of how much happens in the story. We really see Laura grow up as she gets a job in town, goes to her first dime sociable, and eventually earns her teaching certificate.

Another classic in the Little House series. Don't miss out on this one!

Such an absorbing story. From the detailed descriptions of life in the 1840's to Laura's journey into young womanhood, this is a lovely addition to the Little House series. From the first page, the reader is transported back in time. Loved it!
