The day the blizzard started, no one knew that it was going to keep snowing for a week. That for those in its path, it would become not just a matter of keeping warm, but of staying alive. . . .

Scotty and his friends Pete and Jason are among the last seven kids at their high school waiting to get picked up that day, and they soon realize that no one is coming for them. Still, it doesn't seem so bad to spend the night at school, especially when distractingly hot Krista and Julie are sleeping just down the hall. But then the power goes out, then the heat. The pipes freeze, and the roof shudders. As the days add up, the snow piles higher, and the empty halls grow colder and darker, the mounting pressure forces a devastating decision. . . .

This was a quick read, mainly because you just keep turning the pages! It's a unique plot-line: high schoolers are trapped in their school when a blizzard blankets the area. If you are looking for a light, cheery book this is not for you. But if you like a realistic, apocalyptic novel this is great! The writing was great and I loved the story because I've always wondered what it'd be like to be stuck in school overnight!

This was a great book. I didn’t want to put it down. It was very exciting, and I always wanted to know what would happen next. I would recommend this book to older kids who like unusual events, and stories that feel real.
Good Points
Trapped felt very real when I was reading it. I felt like I was the main character, Scotty Weems. The story is told from Scotty’s perspective, as he looks back on his experience, and remembers what happened.
I think that the author did a good job of making this story seem very real, yet exciting at the same time. I didn’t have any doubt about what was happening in the story while I read it. It was believable, but not dull. Some books are just too believable, so they don’t interest you. I felt like the event in this story could happen, but it was amazing at the same time. I think the author did well at balancing the believable, and the unbelievable.
