The brilliant setting, characters, and situation all make up for any flaws in the plotting. And meeting Mug the snarky houseplant makes this a delightful read. I can't wait for the sequel!
Good Points
A richly woven fantasy world so real it feels like a beautiful tapestry. The characters are colorful and engaging, and the main character, Meralda, is very likeable. The varied moods in this story make you feel as if you are really present with the characters, especially inside the Tower.
