Endless (The Violet Eden Chapters #4)

I've been a huge fan of this series since the first book came out. I even made sure to come an extra day during last year's ALA event just so I could grab a copy of the next book in the series.

What can I say? I'm hooked.

What worked for me has to the amazing chemistry between Violet and not only Lin, her Grigori partner, but Phoenix, a fallen angel. Violet struggles with her feelings between both of them and I can't help but think she still has a special place in her heart for Phoenix even after some of the crap he did to her.

The world building is amazing with Fallen angels and the whole search behind saving the world. In TIMELESS, Violet has to prove herself to the Academy and formally become a Grigori. This involves passing some challenging tests. Add to that her missing mother reappears and the whole awkwardness with Lin. Plus Lilith, the first wife of Adam, is stealing children and means to do them harm. The whole twist on Biblical characters is intriguing and fascinating.

I think the real strength of this story is from the chemistry between Violet, Lin, and Phoenix. The internal struggles resonate with the reader. I know. I know. Phoenix treated Violet very badly but there's a glimmer of something more there. He fits the true anti-hero category. Loved him so much.

Wowza on the whole 'kiss' cures all. Or in some cases can kill. Love this! There's also some big reveals that take you off guard. Like the ending. OMG. Just take my heart out and crush it. Bittersweet and I can't believe Violet would do that to...

Nope, not going to spoil it but I will tell you this--this series just get better and better! I can't believe we have to wait to read the next book in the series.
