Some things are worth waiting for… Traveling thousands of miles from home to enter college is the only way nineteen-year-old Avery Morgansten can escape what happened at the Halloween party five years ago—an event that forever changed her life. All she needs to do is make it to her classes on time, make sure the bracelet on her left wrist stays in place, not draw any attention to herself, and maybe—please God—make a few friends, because surely that would be a nice change of pace. The one thing she didn’t need and never planned on was capturing the attention of the one guy who could shatter the precarious future she’s building for herself. Some things are worth experiencing… Cameron Hamilton is six feet and three inches of swoon-worthy hotness, complete with a pair of striking blue eyes and a remarkable ability to make her want things she believed were irrevocably stolen from her. She knows she needs to stay away from him, but Cam is freaking everywhere, with his charm, his witty banter, and that damn dimple that’s just so… so lickable. Getting involved with him is dangerous, but when ignoring the simmering tension that sparks whenever they are around each other becomes impossible, he brings out a side of her she never knew existed. Some things should never be kept quiet… But when Avery starts receiving threatening emails and phone calls forcing her to face a past she wants silenced, she’s has no other choice but to acknowledge that someone is refusing to allow her to let go of that night when everything changed. When the devastating truth comes out, will she resurface this time with one less scar? And can Cam be there to help her or will he be dragged down with her? And some things are worth fighting for…

This is one of those stories that will stay with you long after you finish reading it. Wait For You is gut-wrenching, emotional, and packs a powerful message.

What I loved: J. Lynn handles a difficult and scary topic in a real and honest way. Not only that but she does an amazing job of showing the healing process however difficult and messy it can be. What else did I love? I guess I should say WHO did I love in this story? That would be Cameron "Cam." He had me swooning and laughing throughout the book, lucky Avery. Seriously, he was such a great character. His love, loyalty, and persistence are just a few of the reasons that all the other book boys are going to be giving him the side eye this year.

Final thoughts: Wait For You has some language and physical situations that are an essential part to the story. This is not for the younger crowd. If you do pick this book up, find a comfy place and settle in because you won't be putting it down until the final page.

I was so excited and grateful to have the chance to read this!

This, like most of the author's other books is unputdownable and only took me a matter of hours to read. By the time I was finished, two things happened:

1) I found myself at a loss for words because reading about a character whose experiences partially mirrored my own caught me completely off guard. I'm serious when I say, it's been a struggle to find words adequate enough besides just, "Thank you."

2) Cameron "Cam" Hamilton gave Aiden St. Delphi a run for his pureblood money! Anyone whose read The Covenant Series knows all the awesome that Aiden is made of so you can imagine how much MORE awesome Cam is. (I want a Cam Barbie for Christmas but if not, Raphael will do too.)

The issues addressed in this book are not light, they're heart-wrenching, gritty and raw BUT they're handled so beautifully and in such a realistic way that it's neither depressing nor offensive. There are plenty of laughs, kisses and heart-racing swoons but above all, there is hope. Hope that what happens in the past, whether by choice or not, does not define who you become unless you allow it to. Will those experiences forever change you? Yes. Will they destroy you? Only if you let them.

Wait For You is uniquely different from anything else J. Lynn's written but it might possibly be her best work yet.

Good Points
This story includes strong language and sexual situations, however, the context in which these are placed are appropriate and necessary to the story itself.

I'll start off with the two main characters, Avery and Cam. But ladies first of course. Avery, is such a sweet girl. Running from her absolutely terrible past. I found myself throughout the book wanting to reach into the book and just comfort her. I also had to stop myself from planning to commit the murders of her mother and father, if you can even call them that. What they did to her was completely dfkhidogfh I don't even have the write words to describe it. She needed someone to help her see that she wasn't broken and that she didn't need to keep running. She is stronger than that.

Enter Cam, the sexy, kind, and well, dreamy love interest. He also has a hidden dark past but he doesn't seem to let it control him like Avery. All he was doing was protecting his younger sister... just took it a bit too far. He also has the cutest pet turtle: Raphael.

They have an instant connection and he asks her out the first time they meet. I would have liked to see their love build a little more slowly but it was a wild ride with all their ups and downs and I enjoyed every bit of it. I often found myself just mentally screaming for Avery to confide in Cam.

The whole plot is based around trust and for her to actually try and accept what happened and realize that she can still live. That one terrible thing didn't have to define who she was. It's a basic plot as are the rest in this series but they are still wonderful reads. I plan on reading all of them except Trust in Me, I don't feel the need too. It's just a rehash of this book from Cam's point of view. Overall, I give this book four stars. I've read only two in this series and I'm currently reading Stay With Me. I'd rate in order of favorites Stay With Me, Wait For You, and Be With Me.

I received an ARC of this book from the publishers in exchange for participation in a blog tour as well as an honest review.

I have read and reviewed several of Jennifer L. Armentrout's young adult paranormal reads and was anxious to branch out into her new adult books written under the pseudonym J. Lynn. I was approached by TLC Book Tours about participating in the blog tour for Wait for You and I jumped at the chance. I was a little anxious when I started reading the book because I was afraid one of my favorite authors could possibly end up letting me down as she attempted a slightly different genre than her normal young adult books.

Wait for You opens on an emotionally damaged nineteen-year-old girl named Avery who has decided to move across the country for college in an attempt to run from her past and get some space from her burdensome family. She never imagined how freeing it would be to walk a school campus and have no one whispering behind her back or glaring daggers at her when she came near. She allowed herself to make new friends and even ended up "plowing" into one of the hottest guys on campus.

Cam is intrigued by the awkward, skittish Avery from the moment he laid his baby blue eyes on her. He was determined to get to know her. Little did he know that Avery's behavior was due to a traumatic past that causes a wall to form between the two in which Cam must find a way to beat down at all costs. Cam too has a past he is ashamed of and doesn't wish to alert Avery to. Perhaps between the two of them they can find a way to heal their festering wounds with a love that melds hearts and souls as one.

I completely DEVOURED Wait for You. I could not put it down to eat, sleep, shower, or any of the normal human behaviors. I needed to know what was happening with two of the most well developed characters I have ever met within the realm of fiction. Avery resonated with me heavily due to her haunted past. I think everyone has some sort of past that they are either ashamed of as Cam was or devastated by as with Avery. This book covers all of that and causes it's readers to feel a kinship with either or both of the characters. Their courage to confront these hardships gives its readers faith in themselves that they can do the same.

The romance between Avery and Cam is the stuff of fairytales. Cam truly is the white knight with slightly scuffed armor who is sent to not rescue Avery, but show her that she can rescue herself. Wait for You is my first experience with the genre of New Adult and it has made me hungry for me.

After reading and absolutely LOVING Frigid, this was an auto buy for me. I just knew that I would love this one just as much. Unfortunately that wasn't the case. Although I did indeed like it, it just didn't tickle my fancy quite like Frigid. Everything I loved about a Jennifer Armentrout book was there (swoony boy, smexy times, and some kind of mischief), but it was something that made me just shrug my shoulders over the whole thing.
And I'm thinking it was the characters. Let me rephrase that.... Character. From the beginning it was obvious that Avery was hurt by something back in the day. But the fact that it happened five years ago and she moved away was still holding on to something... Like geez, you moved so many states away, try to live a little and have fun. I hated how it seemed like she was letting the guy that hurt her take over her life. That's a big thing we need to teach girls. Even if something like that happens, don't be afraid to start over and live. Avery missed out on a lot from being so scared. But for Cam, I loved him from the very beginning. He was always a genuine, honest person who I could tell loved her from the start. And he was beyond perfect. He had Raphael and he had obviously read Harry Potter. And as for her best friends, I loved Jacob the most. He was super funny and alot of the times said things that I was actually thinking.
With the romance, it was good, but it wasn't what I was expecting. This one has a lot more tension and only a little smexy times. (Can you tell how disappointed by this I was lol) But it was still very sweet and seemed very real. And the smexy times definitely were SMEXY! (HELLOOO shower scene lol) I loved the Thanksgiving scene when it showed that Avery was beginning to lose her hard shell. And as the book went on, I was happy to see that Cam lost his shell as well and told his own story.
Now with the story line, I wasn't that impressed. I would have loved to see more of her where she was back to her normal self. At least to get back in some dance classes. But only because I hated seeing her as someone who got their life ruined by another person. Especially since that person abused her. As I said in one of my updates, I felt like the whole time she was forgetting to live.He took something special from her but not her life and that's something to not give up hope for. I just felt like it was sending the wrong message. Don't stay quiet, stand up and fight back.
But in the end, J. Lynn is one of my favorite authors and although this wasn't my favorite work by her, I still enjoyed it.

Steph and Dani’s Review:

I was debating whether or not I should put up a review for this for a while, because it is NA, and Dani and I have a YA blog. Well, I loved this book so much that now I don’t care if some unsuspecting person picked it up, was scalded by the *ahem* love scenes, and kept on reading. This was just PERFECT! Cam is perfect. Avery’s story is perfect. The pacing is just right. Like this is the best adult genre novel Jen has ever written. I’ve read Gamble Brothers, but Wait For You is just--out there. Sitting on a throne, altar, tier, whatever. I know I’m biased because I’m in love with JLA’s books, but seriously this was just absolutely heart wrenching and amazing. It is a true gem in the New Adult genre! I wasn’t surprised at all when this hit #1 on the NYT Bestsellers list, because it deserved that position with every page and word written. I’m so proud of Jen, and she has never failed to amaze me!

Avery’s life has been like hell since that Halloween party 5 years ago. She decides to go to college far, far away from her Texas home to escape her past. I was so incredibly angry at her parents and all the people living in her small town. No one understood that she was NOT the one to blame on that horrible Halloween night! Her parents are pompous, narcissus freaks who will and did do anything to maintain their “unblemished” and “perfect” public image. They are terrible, irresponsible parents who left their poor daughter at home on Thanksgiving and Christmas while they traveled the world and went on fancy cruises. They are the epitome of bad parenting. Somehow, Avery managed to pull through this dark time of her life without the support of her family or friends. Another strong heroine.

And then....it happens. She meets the king of sexiness himself: Cam. They are undeniably attracted to each other the moment they collide on the way to Astronomy class. This is somewhat a “love at first sight” scenario, but JLA writes so artfully and paces everything so well, it worked. It wasn’t cheesy or stupid at all, unlike some other “insta-love” novels. I loved to laugh about Avery’s awkwardness around Cam when they first begin to know each other. I can’t count on my fingers how many times she blushed! This book completely reinforces JLA being a Queen of Awkward Situations :).

Cam is just perfect and just what Avery needs, as she will find. He is going to be her new outlet to the world, and eventually how she gets over her past. He will help make her social again, and edge out of the corner Avery has retreated into during her life. This was a perfect love story, where each person will be there to support the other and get through hard times. It wasn’t too fast either. While it did feel like they had an instant attraction, I wouldn’t call it love exactly. Jen paced it just right to make it feel real and believable, so kudos to her for that! I honestly hope that when I fall in love with someone it will be like this. Cam isn’t completely clean either, he is harboring his own secrets and “tarnished” past that Avery will have to help him come over too. This is such a sweet romance, because Avery doesn’t exactly feel ready for a relationship, but it is great watching her fall deeper and deeper in love with Cam despite what her mind tells her.

Jen has made me love turtles now, however random that may sound. Cam has this pet turtle named Rafael, and it is just the most random thing ever but hilarious in the book. This turtle is just too cute, and I’ve never even laid eyes on him before :).

This is a definite must read for any romance and JLA fan. I can’t tell you how excited I was to find out that she would be writing two sequels to Wait For You (#2 will be called Be With Me). I was a giggling mess, no doubt, and onlookers probably thought I was mentally unstable or something (and I’m not refuting that! xD). Cannot wait to see what Jen has in mind for the continuation of the story!

There are many things I loved about Wait For You. Yes, it had some of the things I would expect from a New Adult book, but it was just so much more. Wait For You and it's characters felt so real that I was completely immersed from start to finish. I really felt like I was at the college right along with Avery and Cam.

Avery and Cam's relationship was a great thing to watch unfold. Avery had been hurt in the past, so she is on guard big time. Cam is one determined boy though. I loved how he inserted himself into her life as her friend first, then never gave up on wearing her down to go on a date with him. Seeing their friendship form and then the romance spark so great.

I don't know how Avery held out as long as she did anyway. I mean, I know how and why the girl had issues, but if Cam was showing up at my house making eggs, the eggs wouldn't be the only thing sizzling in the kitchen!

Wait For You is a romance that is sweet, fun, and so real. Wait For you is a book that has everything; hot guys, great friends, redemption, and growth. Jennifer is one of my favorite authors, and this is another homerun for her! If you haven't read it yet, grab your copy now!
