What worked: Page turning tale of one act that has painful consequences. This is one powerful tale told in alternating chapters. Think YA meets Sliding Doors.

I was hooked right from the start! Seventeen-year-old Hadley at first comes off as reckless when she 'borrows' her boyfriend's car. When he posts a naked photo of her that goes viral, all heck breaks loose. Only Hadley finds out that the photo is only the beginning of a more horrific story that involves her dead best friend and a boy she used to care for.

Hadley is strong and doesn't let her boyfriend try to bully her. I liked how once she found more hidden 'truths' on her boyfriend's cellphone, that she wouldn't back down until she found out the whole truth. And what she discovers is more horrific then she could even imagine. The author does a great job showing readers the painful betrayal Hadley experiences and her determination to make sure what happened to her doesn't happen to others.

I really liked how Josh plays a big part in all of this. The chemistry between them doesn't come off strong at the beginning. You know they have some history but that is something readers don't find out till later on. In both versions, he does play a pivotal role in Hadley getting justice which also means learning to trust again.

The alternating chapters really added to this storyline too. Readers are able to see the story play out in two different scenarios that come to fruition at the end.

Secrets, betrayals, broken promises, and lies are quickly revealed. All the while the power of true girl friendship doesn't waver.

Powerful and at times heartbreaking tale of the consequences of one act that ripple into others told through alternating chapters. This contemporary romance is more much that a love story but one that shows the unending power of friendship and trust. A perfect summer read!
Good Points
1. YA Sliding Doors
2. Powerful glimpse into friendship that shows the beauty, love, and heartbreak.
