Ella and Penguin are best friends, which mean that they have to like all the same stuff, much to the dismay of Penguin because he doesn’t like any of it. From the finger painting to the candy to the clothes, he’s not a fan of any of it.

What worked for me: The amazing message of the story, how two people can be as different from each other as possible and still be best friends. I loved that this was such a simple message woven throughout the story of overcoming differences. Ella and Penguin are so different and they still love being best friends and playing together.

One of my favorite things about reading children’s books is the amazing illustrations that go with them. ELLA AND PENGUIN A PERFECT MATCH was no exception. From the bright colors to the silly faces, you will absolutely fall in love with both the story and the illustrations of this book.

Overall I loved this book. It was cute, fun, silly, and the best part it had a great message for kids. Best friends are amazing and great and it doesn't matter if you like all the same thing or none, what matters is that you are friends.
