Obsidio (The Illuminae Files #3)

Obsidio starts off right where Gemina left off and we are introduced to a few new characters who follow in the footsteps of our amazing characters from the previous books, and step up to the plate to solve problems that no one else is willing or able to try. We meet Asha Grant, Kady’s cousin, and Rhys, who works for BeiTech. These two are so adorable and I loved watching them figure out how to act around each other. These two have just as much courage as the rest of the gang. And the rest of the gang is still here in this book! Kady, Ezra, Hanna, and Nik are still doing everything they can to save lives and salvage the mess that their lives have become. And I would be remiss if I did not mention AIDAN, who is still being AIDAN and everything that that entails. It was great seeing them again and knowing that they were still finding ways to beat all of the odds against the massive giant that is BeiTech.

Even though we only get glimpses into all of these character’s lives, whether it is email communications or security footage, the characters are so well developed that I feel like I know them. They are all so strong and so courageous, and they are thrown into this mess and are able to hold it together and accomplish things that the adults couldn’t have done without them. This book had non stop action and suspense, I couldn’t put it down, and when I was forced to, it was all I could think about.

There was truly nothing about this book that I didn’t like. Every single thing was executed perfectly. I would not have changed a single thing.

This is one of my favorite series of all time, if not my absolute favorite. These characters and this story will always have a place in my heart. This is a story about overcoming adversity when everything in life is stacked against you, and fighting back when on the surface, it looks like you can’t succeed. And this is a story of love, and friendship, and hope.
