Desmond and Andres are back for another adventure in Beware the Werewolf. Most of the books in Desmond Cole Ghost Patrol deal with ghosts and the occasional zombie. However, every so often, Andres Miedoso gives us a paranormal monster to contend with. In this book, Andres and Desmond encounter a dog unlike any other they’ve met.

I love this book! It is so fun to read and follow along with Andres and Desmond. This book begins with Andres explaining why he’s a cat person and Desmond is a dog person. After encountering a stray puppy in the park, Desmond and Andres witness it get caught by the local dogcatcher. Afraid of what will happen to it, Desmond hatches a plan to save it and all the other dogs. However, Andres notices that something is awfully strange about the dogs who’ve been caught. They seem happy and really like the dogcatcher. With a full moon on the rise, Andres and Desmond have their work cut out for them.

Overall, I really enjoyed Beware the Werewolf. This one is a lighter read than the previous books of the series. More humor and less scares await readers between the pages. Early readers will find the short chapters and illustrations captivating. I highly recommend this one to any child that enjoys a funny read.
