A Bridge to Wiseman's Cove is among my all time favourite reads. Once you've met the main character Carl, how could you ever forget his heart-wrenching journey of self discovery. The characters, their interaction and dialogue and the fabric of the story itself are all satisfyingly believable, which is, of course, one of Maloney's great strengths as an author. He doesn't pity his characters, yet his writing engenders real empathy for them. He calls a spade a spade, yet always gracefully. I encouraged my teenaged daughter to read this novel and she loved it. We both cried and cried during the story, yet came out at the other end feeling proud of the person Carl discovered himself to be. Don't be put off by our tears; it is not a soppy story, just very real and poignant.

A Bridge to wisemans is a book that is very emotional, sad and heart-breaking to me if i was carl and i would have to grow up as fast as he and mature so much in his young age as only a teenager.
I also did like the way that carl has so much courage and strength he showed that he can mature at a early stage of his life.

A bridge to Wisemans cove is a marvellous book by James moloney he writes what he feels and thats the best way to write. I normally dont read books because most books dont interest me but when I started to read this book I couldnt stop I sat up all ours of the night reading it and didnt want to put it down. It was a really good book and I loved the characters and how they all mature during the book even aunt beryl matures. The only thing I didnt like about the book was what had happened to Kerry and how aunt beryl treated Carl and Harley. this is the best book iv ever read and will defiantly not be the last book of James moloneys I read because he is a really good writer and I enjoy his books so I would like to recommend this book to other people whether their keen readers or not.

A Bridge To Wiseman's Cove is a great book, especially for children aged 12-14. I dont really have an interest in reading but then when i had to read this very detailed, interesting book for a school assignment, i found it very interesting and couldn't get my nose out of it! I recommend anyone who is looking for a exciting book to read!

I'm reading a bridge to wisemans cove for english. My friend anton loves this book as much as i do. I really enjoyed reading about carls journey in Wattle cove.
I think carl was a really shy character. My friend anton(who is a girl) thought harley was the best character overall, because he was a rebel.I dont like their aunt though, shes a bit of a cow. She was really mean to the Matt brothers. i guess though it really was not her fault.
Carl went through a lot and at times i felt sorry for him and his brother. He had a lot of responsibilities.
I recommend this book because it is a lot like real life and what teens go through. i rate it 5 out of 5.

a bridge to wiseman's cove is a book that deals with the troubles and tribulations that a young teenage boy (Carl) faces when he moves to a new town.
it starts off as a very boring read and seems to drag on a bit as the story progresses, but if you look closely, maloney has cleaverly worked in alot of hidden symbolysm into the novel.
i enjoyed this book but i did not completely undersatand its meaning or purpose untill the second time that i read it.

the book "a bride to wiseman's cove" is one of the best books i have ever read it is a book that has everything. its a sad book overall but has a really good story behind it.
carl matt is a boy that isn't confident about himself and has a low self esteem but he learns to like him self while others start to love him as a person and a character. he is a character that has found a place in my heart. he does everything for his brother harley who is a troubled kid because he hasen't got all the love he deserves.
i think all teenagers should read this book beacause i am sure it will touch you hearts like it touched mine.
overall a GREAT book!

Most people only read a book when they have to, in English, at School so they are instantly made to hate it no matter how good the book actualy is. THis book is one of those few good books that if you read it without these pressures after you read it you'll just feel like 'wow!'. I love to read all the time and write so i can spot a good book from a mile away. And this book is good!
It's a great book for teenagers around the age of 11-15 it's about all the kinds of issues that each and everyone of us is made to feel at one point or other in life. Being left alone, Rejected, Peer pressure, friendships, love, saddness and much else.
Carl Matt is the unlikly hero of this heartwarming tale. Hes Chubby and dosn't get on well with other kids his own age. His mum had always gone on little 3-7 day holidays just taking off so he and his siblings are used to adbandoment. THen one day Kerry Matt their mum dosn't come back for months so Sarah the oldest packs her brothers off to their aunty Beryl so she can escape like their mum.
So Carl and Harly are shipped off to Wattle BEach when they get their Harly is a trouble maker and Carl is just left out and he's alone this is about Carl and in the background his brother Harley's adventure to truely finding out who they are and being loved.
THe End
Hope yoy liked my review
