Well I thought this book started off pretty slowly but um once i got into it i couldn't stop. It's actually an alright book but it was quite sad also. You should start every book with a positive attitude or else you won't even reach the last page like the other chick. Anyways do what ever you want.

i had to read this book for an english assignment and at first i thought i was really boring but as i kept reading i got really into it and i couldn't stop reading. it really was an interesting book about the struggles of teenage life, moving from a different city to a new one. and all the other struggles that a 15 year old boy could have.

I loved the book A bridge to Wiseman's cove, all of the detail James Moloney, went into for describing the feelings of the characters, especially Carl. I would love to see this book optioned, or maybe even a sequel, it was that good. The English class that I am in is reading this book, so when I looked on the internet I found pictures of what James Moloney wanted certain scenes in the novel to look like and that is exactly how I pictured them. However I didnt really like the ending the readers didnt found out what happened to Sarah, Harley and Aunt Beryl when/if they found out about their mothers death, what happens with Carl and Justine and What happens to Skip, Joy and Maddie Duncan.

To Lauren, first of all, you obviously don't pay attention to the meaning or message a book holds. Because if you did, then you would know that A bridge to Wiseman's Cove is a great book for it is very meaning ful. From maria

Im in year 9, and i am amazed with such a beautiful book of "A bridge to wisemans cove". Of how people could be "set free" from despare. Its remarkable how such a small book could fit all these emotions like despare, happiness, relief, etc. I think this book is a classic book suitable for young adults, and a testimony to the ingenius mind of James Moloney.
I,a devoted reader have NEVER come across a book such as this one. Nearing the end of the book it inticed me to read me out of pure curiousity, though disappointed me to find that it was nearly the end.I sincerely hope their will be a part two of this book. This book is about a broken family which doesnt fit the general characheristic of a normal family. The mother Kerry Matt abandons her children and has left the eldest daughter Sarah to look after the two boys.
Carl Matt and his younger brother Harley Matt arrive in Wattle Bay, only to be greatly dispiced by the locals, and inherits a shamelful reputation that his previous family members have left him. A scar. A curse. A calssic story of a young boy striving to be a better person, and in the process... frees many people from despare.

The beginning of the book is slightly difficult to understand and it takes a while to get into the mood of the book. However, as the book progresses, the story develops with more sophistication, more realism and the plot thickens. This book has Good VS Evil, with characters such as Aunt Beryl and Bruce Trelfo portraying unrepentant, stubborn, indignant characters, compared to characters like Joy Duncan who are remorseful, caring and treat people the way they deserve to be treated.
Like a normal book which has a deep, thorough plot, the book continues to convey a sad, lost, hostile lifestyle until the climax of the book, when tragedy strikes and all is revealed.

I had to read this book, A bridge to Wiseman's Cove for English, at first I thought it was crap, but then I kept on reading and discovered it is a really well written book. It shows us so many aspects of life; even though many of you out there dont think that it does.
OK, so most mothers dont run off and leave their 19 year old daughter to look after the kids; but it does happen.
A Bridge to Wiseman's cove is a more than a good yarn, to shows us many apects of life, even if the are exagerated.
To all you people out there who think this is a crap book, get a life and have an open mind; this really is a good book to read.

I liked this book. i know others didn't but i thought it was a serious but interesting book. it made me think how lucky i was to have a good life. Carl is such a inspiration, even if he is a character in a book. we had to read it for school, but i would of read it anyway. i want to be a writer when i'm older, and i thought this book was an inspiration to me. anyway, good book, people should read it.
