I have read many reviews for this book and am surprised about the amount of people who enjoyed this book. As an avid reader, I will happily devour any book that is set in front of me. I had to read this book for book for English and I have to say that I didn't enjoy it.

The actual way the book was written in a was good, but I grew to detest the characters and the plot. I found the main themes of the book were very repetitive and the storyline bored and frustrated me. Carl was a 15 year old with a tragic storyline and plenty of insecurities. While some people sympathised with the boy, I found him to be the stereotypical insecure teenager. Admittedly, he was living a difficult life, but I got a bit sick of the poor me routine.

Overall, I wouldn't recommend this book to anyone I know, but if you are into very finding youself-y family novels, then this book is for you.

A Bridge to Wisemans Cove is a very emotional book. It is about a boy named Carl, whose mother and sister has left him and leaves his little brother in his hands to look and care for. Carl was very depressed and extremely shy after his mother left and because he was shy of his fat. He then went to live with his aunt Beryl who was very mean and uncaring. He met a lady named Joy who found him a fulltime job at the barge in Wisemans cove. She was the mother of Maddie, the girl that he likes, and she is best friends with Justine. During the novel Joy takes care of Carl and Harley and soon allows Carl and Harley to live with them.

Carl soon changes, and becomes more confident and less shy about his fat. He also begins to open up and show his true feelings of his grief about his mother, he shows his grief to Justine and Joy and learns to reconcile his relationship with his mother.

Imagine not being loved by your own flesh and blood. Imagine having to look after your younger brother and have a job at the same time.

Carl Matt is a 15 year old that got abandoned by his own mother Kerry and sister Sarah and had to stay with his Aunt Beryl in Wattle Beach, while looking after his younger brother Harley. While staying in Wattle beach Carl had to support himself and Harley financially, for being responsible for the child welfare, in James Moloneys novel A Bridge to Wisemans Cove.

Carl began to wonder if his Mother was ever going to come back and if she did what would happen?

To find out what really happens read the book. A Bridge to Wiseman's Cove written by James Moloney.

when i read this book first, i found it quite enjoyable. now i completly despise it!!!! we have studied this book so much at school, that i probably know every single word! (i agree that IS sad!!!) it was i repeat was a good story, until we analysed it 20 times, wrote two essays, character reviews, 3 pages of info on the book and a whole buch of other stuff!! this proves my point, over-stydying a novel ruins it. GOOD-DAY!

Seriously people, i just read through most of the reviews, and some of them are just so wack! I'm an avid reader, and this book was for an english project.

Anywho, the book was boring at the start, but if any of you actually paid attention to the book you would understand why some people give it good reviews.

A Bridge to Wiseman's Cove is an interisting book. At some times (especialy the begining)it can be boring but most of the time it is good. I had to read it for school and was shocked by some of the material, but as long as the reader isn't under 12 it should be ok.

I really dont think this book is that bad!! i know its boring at times but i think the twist at the end really finished it off really well! i think its also easy to write essays about cause it has so many issues and that sorta stuff. usually i dont like school books and all that but this one isnt as bad as some i've had!
