This book portrays the life of an abused child. It is sad, so if you don't mind crying and some emotional pulls then you will love A Child Called It. The child in the book is the author and he also writes two other books that tells the life that he lives as an adult.
This book is a great read if you are into real life abuse problem. He goes through so much through out the book. Read it and find out how he gets out.

This book was pretty intense because i have never met anybody in my life who had experienced this kind of abuse. what made it more surprising was the fact that the author was writing about his own, personal past; this was an autobiography. this book was fun to read because each page kept me on edge because i kept wanting to turn the page and know what would happen next.in my opinion it was a pretty good book and i would recommend everybody to read and experience what it feels like to be Dave; even if it is only for one day

A child called it captured my heart. This book is based on a true story. It saddens me to know that this little boy had to go through such a rough life. A child called it pulled me in with in the first couple of pages and I didn't want to put it down. I loved this book because it informs people on child abuse. Also because it really makes you feel, and even cry at times. I recommend this book for people who can handle sad stories, and likes a good read.

This book is a sad story, but happy also. It sad to see a child lost and abused like this. Childern get lost in a family and are not seen by the people that need to see them until its too late. There is hope a lot of times for childern that have been abused. They are rescued from stuff they do not need to see or hear. They are taken away and given another chance at life. This book show you what childern go through. What they have to suffer in an abusive home. The story is told with passion, hate, sadness, longing, hope, joy, peace, and love. I cried over this book. I cried seeing how this child was abused. How could a mother be so crul. This book will keep you going. It will make you appericate your good life.

This book is wonderful. It wil make you gasp, cry, and take your breath away. If you can't take gruesome injuries I wouldn't recommend this book to you. This book makes you think about those kids at your school who people make fun of and always wear dirty clothes. It makes take a second look at other people's situations and makes you appreciative of your own. One day Dave's mother snaps and starts hating him. He undergoes starvation, beatings, poisonings, burnings, and much more. Crying out for someone to help him and no one pays attention. This would be a book that everyone should read at least once.

This book is about a boy. Who struggles through life. Wondering why and what it is that he has done. To deserve the unending abuse. His mother inflicts upon him. He endures unmentionable conflicts with his mother. Where she retaliates with stabbing him to setting him necked on a lit stove when he was four. He becomes more of a warrior fighting for his life. Then a child seeking his mother's love. At the brink of life and death. He finds no reprieve but, only guilt at being rescued an abandoning his brothers. This book may shock you. It shows the most shocking and gruesome details into the life of an abused child. It will open your eyes to the world around you.

I didnt enjoy this book. It was way way way to sad. It was to hard to read. it made me want to cry when I was reading it. It would be a horrible ay to live. I would not recommend this book to anyone because it would probably make them cry. Very well written but not enough that i would want to read it again.

I really like this book, even though I did not enjoy reading it at the time. It is a hard book to read because of the subject matter, and the book is very graphic and descriptive which can be upsetting at times. It was extremely worthwhile, but I think that I was a little young to read it at the time- I would say 18 and up would understand and be able to cope with reading this book.

This story is the most heart breaking I have heard because it's true. This is truly what happened to Mr. David Pelzer. I have to say this book is one of the saddest things I have ever heard. It was just a beautiful novel but I find it disgusting that something so horrible could happen to an innocent child. This book opens eyes to the issue of child abuse and I for one think it is a problem that needs to be brought to light more. This kind of thing should never happen to someone and in reading this book I would only hope that other people feel this way. This is really seeing life through the eyes of a child that has been so tormented by his past. I admire that David Pelzer was strong enough to write this series of books about his life and to help people who are going through or have gone through the same trials and tribulations as he did. I highly recommend this book and the others in the series. They will truly open your eyes.
