Flinn is not a new author, but I had never heard of her until
recently. Her book Beastly
has been made into a movie and will be released sometime next
year. 

A Kiss in Time is a modern day
re-telling of Sleeping Beauty. Jack stumbles upon Princess Talia's
kingdom and is drawn by her beauty. He ends up kissing her and they must
run away because her father is furious with Jack and Talia. There
journey to America is humorous at times because Talia is unfamiliar with
the technology. Once they reach America Jack wants to rid himself of
Talia, but than begins to use her to his advantage. All the while Talia
wants Jack to fall in love with her.

The story has an interesting plot
and believable characters, but it didn't hit the mark for me. It is 384
pages and after the first 150, I began to lose interest. I only finished
the book to see how everything turned out. I do believe it would be a
nice summer read if you read a couple chapters a day.
