Book 2 in the Series of Unfortunate Events continues the unusual narrative of the three orphans and their nemesis Count Olaf. This book is full of heroics, family, drama, and adventure and is just as darkly delightful as the first in the series.
My second favorite book of the series!

Violet, Klaus and Sunny's series of unfortunate events continue in this second book out of thirteen. This time, they move in with their caring, very distant Uncle Monty. They instantly click with their uncle, he's so interesting. He even has his very own reptile room, with The Very Deadly Viper. However, as the series name suggests an unfortunate events occurs and ruins everything.
This book is not only the second book of the series, but also my second favorite book of the series, (my first favorite being the 9th).
After reading the first book of the series, The Bad Beginning, you will not be disappointed with the second book, The Reptile Room. This book is just as good, if not better than the first one is.

This book is one of the best in this series, the way that the author uses reversal psychology to not read the book make you want to read the book even more! The whole series is gripping and a work of art. They are not hard to read so it is easy to loose yourself in the Baudelaire orphans lives and you end up empathising with such depth that the story becomes so much more important and you need to know the next line.
The whole series is a master piece and i strongly reccommend it!

Out of all of the guardians, I found Uncle Monty to be the best of them all. His job is quite original and the creatures that come out of his job are very exciting. While in the reptile room, I found that part to be very interesting. All the characters found their perfect job with their new uncle but it soon came to an end. I would recommend this book to anybody, even if you don't like snakes.

This is an awsome book. In an awesome series I might add. It is about The Baudelaire (I think that's how they spell it) orphans-a word which here means three children whose parents have died in a horrible fire- and their unfortunate adventures with their Uncle Monty. It is funny & serious & ohh just FANTASTIC!!!!!
I just didn't like it because it's too SHORT!

the plot was not that get, but it was suspenseful so even though I didn't quite like it I had to keep reading. In that aspect I liked so the book grew on me throughout. i recomand it if you are bord and can find a good book.

Things are not looking good for the Baudelaire children; their parents have died, their house has burned down, and the evil Count Olaf is after their fortune. And you thought things would be better in the sequel?
These books are endlessly amusing and inventive (like Violet!) and easy to sink your teeth into (says Sunny). In this part of thier story, the Baudelaire children move in with their Uncle Morty, an herpetologist, and his collection of snakes. Morty is kind to them, and gives them each their own bed, and takes them to the movies but. . . well. . . if you've read the first one, you know what (and who) is coming.
This book is just as delightful, or distressing, depending on your point of view, and those who liked the first will not what to miss the second.
