This book (which, by the way, is by Alan Fildes) tells the story of Alexander the Great. That much, I suppose, is obvious from the title, but I really did find it to be an impressively thorough work. The author includes information about previous Macedonian kings as well as about Alexander.
Contrary to what some people believe, I read a reasonable amount of non-fiction (all right, by a reasonable amount I mean one in every thirty books). Still, I know good non-fiction when I see it. This book is readable as well as factual, and the pictures make it very attractive as well.
This is one of those rare works of non-fiction that you just read, and yet still get something out of, which I love.
