ALL ABOARD THE BEDTIME BUS is a cute picture book that turns getting ready for bedtime into something magical. The reader takes a rhyming journey along with the animals who board the bedtime bus and take it on to Slumber Land.

What I loved: The illustrations throughout this book are lush and gorgeous with plenty of color and dreamy landscapes with clouds and lovely details. The writing is lulling with gentle rhymes and a repeating song that ties the story together. The repetitive nature of the book will make this work well for young readers, particularly toddlers and preschoolers. The end concludes with all the animals sleeping in a dreamscape that helps to lead into bedtime for readers as well.

What left me wanting more: As a small thing, I would love to know the tune that the song is intended to be sung to. It would be great to be able to sing this when reading! As another small thing, some of the font was very tough to read, as it is was printed in black over dark blue backgrounds, which make it particularly difficult in low light settings such as at bedtime.

Final verdict: Overall, ALL ABOARD THE BEDTIME BUS is a sweet bedtime picture book with lovely illustrations and rhyming text that will work well for sleepy little readers.
