                                             The Brave Children

I liked the book because I learned about the population law. I thought it was interesting when Luke and Jen became friend.  I thought it was interesting that people couldnt have more than 2 kids. Luke and   Jen are both shadow children.

First the reason, I liked the book was because it was interesting but it had a lot of adventuring in it. I liked it when Luke ran over to Jens house one day and

broke the screen down to see if Jen was home but she wasnt her dad was. I was

shocked when Luke and Jens dad first saw each other, and Jens dad walked

down stairs with a gun, and I thought he was going to shoot Luke but he didnt

Then Luke picked the gun up when   Jens dad wasnt looking and about killed

Jens dad but Jens dad talked him out of killing him.

To conclude, I think people 9-12 should read this book it might be easy for

people older. I promise you that you dont want to put it down. You will get

stuck in the book like I did I promise. Teachers you should read it to your class.

I think Ive ever read such an amazing book like Among the Hidden. In this book you will go back in a time were a Population law stops people from having more than three kids; and saying two is plenty. When you read this book you get to meet a boy named Luke. Luke is an illegal third; that lives with mother; father; and two older bothers Matthew and Mark. When Luke spots a face in a window; but; he already knows that two other children live there.

First; I liked the book because Margret Peterson Haddixs books are just amazing; I was surprised when I found out people werent allowed to have more than two children!

Therefore my recommendation this book is for kids; but adults too; but for kids through 3rd and 5th grade; and kids who like amazing; and heartbreaking statements!

Among the Hidden was a very-good-hard-to-put-down kind of book. It is about a boy named Luke who is illegal and has to hide all the time because he is a third child in a place that only allows women to have 2 children. Then he meets a girl named Jen, who does everything Luke has ever known to be illegal. He has secret meetings with her all the time, then he finds out that she has a plan to come out hiding. Can he trust her enough to go with her? Can he live his lie without going?

This book had a lot to like about it. Its hard not to make a mile long list. I liked the fact that its realistic fiction and you really know it because Margaret Peterson Haddix make it as real as it can get. It also makes you conscious about the future. I was on the edge of my seat when Luke had his first meeting with Jen. It was sad that Luke couldnt live a normal life because of the population law. I also really liked Jen because she was a risk taker and wanted to tell the government things like give me liberty or give me death

I would recommend this book to anyone who likes jump-out-of your-seat-action books because it had lots of action init. It was also a book for adventure lovers because Jen was an adventure lover. And also Among the Hidden is in the shadow children series, so read the rest of the series.

This is one of the best books Iv'e read, I would reccmmnd this book to readers who love readin c science fiction books. One of my favorite parts was when luke  saw an errie face at the barrons window he wanted to go check who it was and soon he realizes this could be another third child so he  be left alone in his dingy attic. In the beggining of the story luke had rules to follow. He wasnt able to turn on the radio, couldnt eat with his family, He couldnt be outside. thats why later in the book jen sets up he rally to pursaude the government that all shadow children need to be free and wont have to hide anymore jen and the forty kids were killed.Luke said before the rally that jen should be shot because he was angry and he found out he regret he said that.I hope if you read this book you will like it more than me.

among the hidden is a great book!!!! I have read it 2 times now, and the 2nd time made a lot more sense!! this is definitely a good book, but it is not my favorite. this book gave me great suspense, but i was so sad in the end! luke is a shadow child, and in that town it is illegal to have more than 2 children,  but he is brave and goes to meet another 3rd child when he sees her in his window. here is some advice...
at the beginning it is really slow, but don't give up, because it ends up being amazing!!! i hope you like it!!!!!
