This book talks about various birds and their comparison with dinosaurs and how they are interconnected; it also talks about how birds contribute to our planet.

What I Liked: This book starts with a fun story about someone finding a fossil that looks like a bird and a dinosaur at the same time. Fortunately for others, this man isn’t too interested in the fossil, so he sells it so he can buy a cow. We then find out what happened to the dinosaurs and how we expected them to all be extinct, but that might not be the case. This then leads to the ways in which birds and dinosaurs are related and the amazing things that birds can do.

The illustrations throughout this book do a exceptional job of complimenting the story that is being told. Children will enjoy hearing about how the dinosaurs became extinct but how we still have traces of them in our ordinary birds. It was fascinating to see the similarities that birds and dinosaurs share, and learn how birds help the planet. With each page there are new facts to learn and a new bird to be introduced to.

Children ages 5 and up who like dinosaurs and birds will love seeing how similar these two are and learning the ways in which birds have evolved over time.
