I read this book when I was in high school (who didn't right??) It's still a classic and probably one of the best to capture some of angsty issues of a teenager. Bravo!!

Margaret is experiencing many changes in her life. From her recent move, to starting a new school, and having to make to new friends, her plate is full. Add in the fact that she is a "late bloomer" and it's no wonder she's feeling a bit blue. She's too embarassed to talk to her parents about her problem, so what's a young girl to do? She instead turns to God....listing out her problems, hopes, and dreams, and eagerly awaits a response....
Read this in grade school, maybe 5th or 6th to be precise. A funny story to be remembered for all young girls that deals with real-life situations in a humorous manner. Especially laughable part where they are trying to increase their size...read it, you'll see. Enjoyable for young girls and those young at heart. Happy reading!

I thought this book was okay not the best and not the worst. I will always remember reading. A young girl can learn alot from a book. people dont realize how hard it is for young girls until they read this book. Everyone young girl should read this. They might find out something new about themselves they never knew.

Margaret is an eleven going on twelve year old who is dealing with some major issues in her life. A new town with a new school, new friends, a new body that is changing in ways that she doesn't understand, and deciding about religion. This coming of age book was one of the first to deal with all of these topics in a fresh and honest way. The book kept me wanting to read more the farther I read and I like Margaret's character. The book was a little predictable but was very sweet and a good read.

Are You There God? It's Me, Margaret, is about a girl Margaret who moves to a new neighborhood just when she's starting her teenage years. In her home neighborhood, she becomes friends with other girls, and together, they create a club. In the club, the girls talk about various things, such as boyfriends and periods. Margaret's own questions about her religion and identity sprinkle the story.
This story, I believe, accurately describes what teenage girls go through and feel. It brings up the issue of religion, and friendship, and even the changes that happen to us teens. A recommended story for girls everywhere.

"Are You There God? It's Me, Margaret" was a pretty good book. It's not really religious cuz Margaret doesn't have a religion and she doesn't even know if she wants to beleive anymore in God at all becuase he won't help her grow. Margaret has just moved in and makes friends quickly. As a matter of fact she is one of the 4 PTS'! Which is a club her friends have. If you are just starting to grow up and become a women or aren't and would like to then this is a good book for you!

this book is about a girl named Margeret who moves to a different state. On her official first day there she meets and makes a new friend. through out the book she and her friends go through a very important stage in their lives, a girls' life. getting their period.
when i first read this book i was in the third grade. my teacher, mr. hall said it was a great book and that i should read it. and he was right, it was a great book. i fully understood it except when it started talking about the period. my couriosity got the better of me not knowing what it was so i asked my older sister what it was. she not knowing what to say said it was what came at the end of a sentence. seeing as she wasnt helping i went to my older brother but he was just the same. finally i gave in and asked my mother. she really didnt want to tell me being at such a young age(8) but in the end she also gave in. knowing what it was made me understand the book even a great deal more.
after my first incounter with Are You Ther God? It's Me, Margaret, i read it again in the 4 and 5grade and as i read it each of those years my attention was drawn to parts it never was before.
i really like this book because it is interesting and its based on judy blume, the author's life. it relates to me 'cause most of my stories are based on my life. i would recomend this book to any girl at any age and to a sigle male parent espercially if he has a daughter to raise

I read this book many years ago, during my adolescence. I absolutely loved it; I go back and read it every once in awhile. The book is so fun. The three girls are so silly. Margaret's character is so easy to relate to. She is one of those characters that is either just like you, or just like one of your friends. The book made me feel more at ease about puberty and adolescence.
