This story captures the simple pleasures of spending a day in nature with friends. There isn't anywhere in particular Racoon wants to go, or anything he wants to do. The joy is in experiencing everything together, from boating to cooking to games on the beach.

I also love how the animals are shown having fun even when certain things don't go how they planned. Mistakes and surprises don't ruin the adventure. Instead, it's part of what makes a moment unique, and perhaps gives something to learn for next time.

Pick this up for the nature lovers, and maybe a certain someone who could use the reminder, you don't always have to make it around the world. As for me, I'm looking forward to picking up more from this author.
