Backpack Explorer: Discovering Plants and Flowers is an awesome addition to our homeschool curriculum (like all the books in the Backpack Explorer series!).

Boasting colorful illustrations of different plants and flowers, young children are sure to find this book intriguing. The images are both full color photos, as well as accurately drawn images.

The info is presented in a comprehensive manner; the language is easy to understand and the structure of the book is straight forward. I loved the emphasis on not touching plants you do not know, or that do not belong to you without permission.
Encouraging kids to learn while playing/being active is a big part of this series. Discovering Plants and Flowers has hands on activities such as nature weaving with grasses, flower crowns, and making art with different plants.
Not a fan of the flimsy magnifying glass, but we did love the many stickers!

The bonus plant log was a big hit with my children. Its a nice way to look back at favorite excursions and remember the different plants encountered.

This lovely, colorful, easy-to-read book would make a lovely gift for both children.
