Forget everything you thought you knew about princesses...

Welcome to Bad Princess by Kris Waldherr (author of Doomed Queens), where you'll discover what really happens after "Happily Ever After." From the war-torn Dark Ages of Medieval Europe to America's Gilded Age, and all the way up to Kate Middleton, Bad Princess explores more than 30 true princess stories, going beyond the glitz and glamour to find out what life was really like for young royals throughout history.

A mix of royal biography, pop culture, art, style, and pure fun, Bad Princess is a whip-smart, tongue-in-cheek spin on the traditional princess narrative, proving that it takes more than a pretty crown to be a great leader.

I'm a huge British royalty fan. What's great about BAD PRINCESS is the author shares great insights into the lives of real-life princesses. Also there are some facts behind some common terms like 'blue-blooded' and 'dollar' princesses. These were rich American girls that came with a huge dowry to attract an European husband of royal birth.

Not all the stories are happy like how Lady Jennie Churchill's love of fashion led to a tragic end. There's infamous princesses like 'bloody' Countess Elizabeth Bathory who killed hundreds of girls and used their blood to 'maintain' a youthful appearance. Lucrezia Borgia who was rumored to poison suitors for the sake of loyalty to the Vatican during the Italian Renaissance.

The book mentions Princess Diana and how the public's need to know about her all the time led to her tragic death. They say that one paparazzi sold a photo of her dying at the scene of the auto crash for 300,000 pounds. There's mention of Princess Malfalda of Savoy who ended up being sent to a Nazi concentration camp so they could get rid of Italian royalty. Plus, there is a family map of King Henry VIII's wives and his daughters.

Other fun facts include how to wed a prince; the royal road to power and ruin; who's who in royalty; and much more.

There's also a section on modern day princesses and their causes. Plus, the history behind some famous Disney princess stories.

Highly engaging with riveting facts and tidbits on the truth behind the tiara.
Good Points
1. Great insights into lives of real live princesses
