My whole family enjoyed reading “Bear’s Lost Glasses” together. The story follows Bear, who really can’t see very well without his glasses, as he searches for his missing glasses. Because of his poor vision, Bear hilariously mistakes everyday objects for animals—like spotting a "Flamingo," only to realize it’s just a big pink flower. However, it turns out that Bear’s glasses were on his head the whole time!
The illustrations in this book are simple yet incredibly cute, especially Bear. Bear looks like such a huggable friend due to his cartoon shape and soft-looking fur. Timmers's drawing of ordinary objects to resemble animals adds an extra layer of fun and really brings Bear’s world to life, even without backgrounds in the illustrations.
This story is relatable to anyone who wears glasses or has lost something and only finds it in the most obvious place (so everyone)! My family had a blast reading this together, especially as my son eagerly tried to guess what Bear would think the next object was. We laughed along as Bear realized his silly mistakes on his journey home from Giraffe’s house.
Overall, "Bear's Lost Glasses" is a fun read for the whole family; it’s sure to bring smiles and giggles with every turn of the page!
