Better Than The Movies by Lynn Painter is one of the cutest rom-coms to date. It's everything you could want from this genre!
-Doomed Meet Cutes
- Enemies to Lovers
-Cute Boy Nextdoor
-Fake Relationship
-Prom
-Family/Life Lessons
-Friendship

Better Than The Movies has characters and situations that are entirely relatable. From the one who got away to acceptance of a new step parent. The entire book is self aware, finding and exploiting the faults in the classic rom-coms, while still show casing why we hold these faults dear to our hearts - in a refreshing way.

I appreciate the fact that Liz was able to pin-point the root of all her trauma. This made her character seem more real. This childhood trauma sets off a domino effect that sets off the way she reacts and interacts with other supporting characters in the book.

The romance is absolutely swoon worthy, Wes and Liz's relationship will have you laughing and on the verge of tears throughout the whole book. Some of the "swooniest" quotes come from Wes.
The quotes and references from other rom-com's are fun and give you a tiny taste of each chapter.
Also fond of how Painter put The Great Gatsby in it's place!
