Big Nate in a Class by Himself is big time, funny book that starts off with a fortune cookie. On it, it said "Today you will surpass all others." Nate is excited by this and starts to do things he wouldn't normally do, like trying to make teachers laugh, writing love poems and eating a lot of green beans. The detentions start to pile up as Nate starts to get worried about his fortune, and you won't believe how it does.

I love Big Nate, it is such a funny book. I love the comics, they are so funny. The cartoon of Nate is funny as well, he always wears the same clothes, his hair is weird, and he is pictured as super small. The characters have a great sense of humor and I sure think it is a lot better than Diary of a Wimpy Kid, even though they are pretty similar.

The plot is brilliant to. It is full of comedy, laughter and the adventures that Nate gets himself into. I loved the idea of how he surpasses people with the amount of detentions he got. Seven whole detentions, now that is a lot!

The writing style is pretty good. I like how it is just a day of Nate's life and not like a whole year like Diary of a Wimpy Kid. It makes it easier to follow, especially how it has chapters. I like how it isn't a journal as well, more like a story of a day in the life of Nate Wright. I also like how it is written in Nate's view.

This book is such a laugh. I your a 8+ girl or boy and can't find a book to read, doesn't like reading, or just wants a good laugh, well then Big Nate is definitely for you!!!
