This book takes an informative and interesting look into nature and how we mimic it. Afterall, most of our "inventions" are modeled after nature! From the airplane to sonar, nature has helped us come up with some pretty cool inventions.
This book is aimed at older children, and I think even an 8 year old might have trouble following it without adult help. The book is very informative and I learned a great deal from it! I'm not what you would call "a science girl", it has always confused me, but this book puts it in ways that were easy for me to understand. I haven't shared this book with my two boys (ages 6 and 4) yet because I think it will go right over their heads, but I look forward to sharing it with them when they are a bit older.
This book has great illustrations that go along with the pages. And the topics include smart structures in nature to computing nature's way. This book is sure to please the young science enthusiasts and is a great addition to any classroom in the upper elementary grades!
