What I loved:
Blood Heir is a fantastic debut taking the classic Anatasia story and adding magic to it in the form of affinities that have various powers. Ana can control someone's blood, and at the very start, our tale is breaking out of a high-security prison with a crime lord. What a way to throw us into the story and get us hooked right away. I can read the whole series now that book three is out, and I loved it just as much the second time around. Ana is a strong character bound and determined to find the man she saw kill her father. what she discovers once she returns to the palace is mind-blowing and the perfect way to keep you enthralled, so you want to jump right into the second book.
Final Verdict:
Blood heir is a remarkable debut. It shines in originality, the magic system is unique and well defined, and the pacing is quick and does not leave you hanging—the ending while a cliffhanger of sorts leaves you wanting to dive right into the next book.
Audiobook Review:
The narrator is perfect for this story, with a great handle on the account and the pacing to keep you listening up the final page. I was not bored, nor did not I want the story to end.
