Blue Bloods (Blue Bloods #1)
User reviews
Schuyler attends a private school called New York Duchesne School. Viewed as an outcast she hangouts with her friend Oliver who is secretly crushing on her and living with her grandmother at their fixer-upper Mansion. Schuyler gets an invatation into the Blue Bloods club where she learns that they are all reincarnated fallen angels who have the crazings for Blood including her coma induced mother.
I did not like this book. Everything was boring and unoriginal. Unless you like a book that has no substance and the same "I want this guy even though he keeps messing me over and I can't see what I have beside me" book then I wouldn't suggest this.
Blue Bloods iis a story about six teenagers who have entered the entangled world of the Blue Blood society.Schuyler Van Allen has allways been an outcast in her school until she gets a note one day inviting her to a dance. There at the dance she finds out she is a desandant of the pilgrams from the mayflower. And that she is a vampire.
This book was really awesome but the blue blood society was really hard to wrap your head around. They had a lot of rules and people that it was hard to remember. Also the book has a lot of contridections. But it was a great book.
This book is about a girl named Schuyler Van Alen. She attends the private school in New York City, Duchesne. her best friends name is Oliver Hazard-Perry and he also goes to Duchesne. And when Schuyler turns fifteen, her life takes a makes a dramatic change. And the death of a popular schoolmate haunts her in an unexpected way. Once an outcast, Schuyler is forced into Manhattan's most exclusive social group. Its members are powerful, and-as Schuyler soon finds out-not human. They are the Blue Bloods, an ancient group of of vampires, and they have been unstoppable for centuries. Now something is preying on this group. And Schuyler is determined to get the real truth.
Within New York Citys most elite families, there lurks a secret society of celebrated Americans whose ancestors sailed on the Mayflower. They are the powerful and the wealthyand in fact, they are not human. They are the Blue Bloods, an ancient group of vampires.
Schuyler Van Alen has never fit in at Duchesne, her prestigious New York City private school. She prefers baggy, vintage clothes instead of the Prada and pearls worn by her classmates, and she lives with her reclusive grandmother in a dilapidated mansion. Schuyler is a lonerand happy that way.
But when she turns fifteen, Schuylers life changes dramatically. She has a mosaic of blue veins on her arms, and craves raw meat. The death of a popular girl from Duchesne is surrounded by a mystery that haunts her. And strangest off all, Jack Force, the most popular boy in school, is showing a sudden interest in her.
Schuyler wants to find out the secrets the Blue Bloods are keeping. But is she herself in danger?
Melissa De La Cruz's novel is filled to the brim with vampire lore, excitement, and suspence. The glittery characters and a mysterious plot line will draw the reader into the story, not allowing them to escape its page turning electricity until the end, and even then you will be reading on to the next book in the triligy.
Blue Bloods is an action packed, romance, thriller, fantasy and many other genres alike. When a young outsider notices some big changes in herself she learns who she is and an even bigger shocker a hidden enemy that no other of her kind will even think of. It defies all the norms of Vampire novels and is a different kind of awesome than Twilight. This book tells the story from 3 different girls perspectives following them through their transformation into a vampire and their normal teenage responsibilities.
Schuyler doesn't fit in at her New York private school, Duchesne. She's never been into the expensive clothes and jewelry and not just because her family's decaying financial condition can't afford it. She's an outcast and always will be,
But when she turns fifteen, her life changes dramatically. One of the girls in her class shows up dead and Jack Force, the most popular boy in school actually talks to her. And then she's thrown into the most exclusive social committee in New York, where she is told that she's an indestructible vampire. But now something is coming after her, and the indestructible part of being a Blue Blood might have some exceptions.
I heard that this was the vampire Gossip Girl. Someone forgot to mention that they actually put a plot in it, making it more like The Elite than Gossip Girl.
This book was a little slow to start. But when the action began it was hard to stop reading. The story is very enjoyable. The writing was fabulous and it definitely makes you want to read the second book, Masquerade. I was very surprised by the book. I hadn't expected to like it, but I did. The vampires in this story are much different than any others I've read.
I would recommend the Blue Bloods books. Vampire lovers and anyone who enjoys reading paranormal books would adore them. Gossip Girl readers will also enjoy it!
This series is going to do more then rival Twlight.
So thought out, so complex, lots of foreshadowing. The Fallen Angels turned Vampires? So orginal.
Jack and Sky belong together and that sister needs to get a taste of her own medicine. Which she does in the second one.
I wish that this story just followed Sky and Jack's sister Mimi....she needs to get a life that doesn't involve her brother.
It was so good, i read the second one on accident first, so i had to go back and read this one. It was better then i ever thought it was going to be.
Blue Bloods is shown through many characters' points of views. Each character gets a chance to narrate what is going on in their life, in that section. One of the main characters is Schuyler. Schuyler has always been seen as the outcast at her small school. She isn't as materialistic, as some of her other classmates. However, within time she learns that she is a vampire, and for once in her life she is connected to people she would have never thought possible to be connected to. She is more confused as ever, but she is willing to accept this change in her life. Soon after she finds out what she is, she is already on a mission to find out what has been hunting other vampires, like her. Before she becomes next.
I really liked this book. I couldn't help comparing it to Twilight, and I must say that both come really close as to how good both are. All of the characters bring something unique and different to the book. Melissa De La Cruz did an excellent job writing it, and by not making her book into 'just another vampire book'. I would recommend this book to anyone up for a good read.

I wrote that review.
I loved Blue Bloods it was awesome.
Schuyler Van Alen goes to the most prestigious private school in New York City, Duchesne. While Duchesne is full of Prada wearing glamour, Schuyler is completely not. She wears vintage and baggy clothes, so its obvious she doesnt fit in.
Then on her 15th birthday things started to change. A mosaic of blue veins started to appear on her arms and she begins to fancy raw meat. She then discovers something unbelievable; the New York Blood Bank Committee is a secret vampire society of elite wealthy families called the Blue Bloods. To make things even weirder she is part of it!
A series of strange events starts to happen. Jack Force, the most popular guy in school, is taking notice of her, a fellow schoolmate and Blue Blood dies, and a dangerous secret from their past is being kept from the new Blue Bloods. A secret that Schuyler is determined to find out.
This is a definite must-read for all vampire fans out there. It has an interesting twist on vampires by using the glamor of NYC and American history that will keep you reading.
I just finished reading the book "blue bloods", and it was wonderful, because it has a lot of suspense, and the author relates the story of diferrent characters of the book, so we can see each one of them's point of view. This book is about a girl "Schuyler" whose mom was in a coma, and she just founded out in her private school that she's one of the blue bloods, that she's an unvulnerable vampire, but she discovers that something stronger than them is coming back to haunt them and that he's probably disguising as one of them. Shuyler tries to discover what that creature is with the help of her best friend Oliver and one of the popular girls "Bliss".
