In the Author’s notes at the end of ‘Blue Fate 1 STARTUP’, Cass comments that in writing this series he wanted to create fun action stories, but he was also motivated by deeper reflections. He writes, “During my travels around the world I’ve observed that most people are living in cultures that contain unique value systems. Our culture determines how we think and believe. My question is what happens when unforeseen circumstances test our perceptions? In the case of the Blue Fate Series, the main characters are not only challenged by unexpected forces, but they must also confront their very way of thinking.”
Because of this, the Blue Fate Series are more than your standard action thrillers in that they contain deep psychological conflict. The main characters are flawed and they face personal dilemmas where the answers are not so evident.
Cass Tell’s books are thought provoking, containing underlying themes of culture and worldview. He writes in a number of genres. Previously published ‘Social Code’ is the story of someone sucked into a cult-like online game and it exposes the addictive power of the internet. ‘PaleTides’ is a literary novel about contemporary social systems, where the main character is caught between a legalistic religious system and a secular culture gone wild.
