What bothers you about your own body? Could it be your skin (acne, sweating, tanning addiction, cellulite, piercings)? Is it something to do with your breasts (size, pain, itching, bumps, and more)? Or how about the infamous "Down There" situation (periods, appearance, scents, etc)? You might hate your hair, your nails, your breath, or your shape. You could be contemplating a tongue ring, or have a problem with a body part you already pierced. Maybe your friend is offering to give you a tattoo.
Whatever your problem or question, you can find information on it in BODY DRAMA -- and you're guaranteed to love the frank, down-to-earth way in which author Nancy Amanda Redd addresses each issue. (And, hey, any book offering you 99 nicknames for "The Girls" and 21 nicknames for your period has a high entertainment value.)
When I heard that there was a body acceptance book written by a Miss America swimsuit winner, I was a little skeptical, picturing a fluffy, shallow handbook that would give us nothing new. Dear Ms. Redd: I apologize! This is a beefy, comprehensive guide to whatever is bugging YOU about your body -- and it's filled with photos of real women's bodies, images that you won't see anywhere else, and ones that haven't been altered to perfection (in fact, Redd spends several pages discussing those perfect women we all see in the media, and telling us why they are a lie). In fact, I believe BODY DRAMA is a revolutionary stride forward for females everywhere; I dare any girl to take a peek inside and not keep on reading . . .for hours.
