What I liked:
Wren is a formidable female lead who’s easy to route for. She’s not soft, but she has some emotional baggage and plenty of nobility. Without much choice, she teams up with Julian, an enemy Ironsmith and an equally complicated, likable guy. An enemies-to-friends romance, however, is a subplot, leaving the conspiracy and tons of action as the story’s driver as we reveal some hard-hitting truths, and Wren is left reeling for most of the last half of this first book.
Final Verdict:
Bone Smith is a hard-hitting, action-packed thrill ride full of
twists and turns, ghosts, walking dead, betrayals left and right, and even a corpse queen. I found this to be the perfect fall read as we are dealing with things that bump in the night, and October is the best time to pick up this kind of story.
