For first impressions, I thought that this book was going to be darker than it actually was. I thought that the mistakes that Monroe and Nathan were realistic and felt that it could happen to anybody. Also I like that we almost immediately know what Nathan's secret is but Monroe's secret takes longer to find out.
This book is in split povs, so we get Nathan and Monroe's thoughts and feelings and I really liked that. I also liked how they reacted to each other when they first meet and throughout their relationship.
What I didn't particularly like in this book was the background characters. I felt that they were kind of stereotypical friends: the girl who parties all the time only to have deeply rooted problems, the boy's best friend that is laid-back, etc. I just didn't really like the background characters.
I liked the ending though. I thought that it wrapped up the novel nicely but also left some mystery as to what happens to Monroe and Nathan in the future.
