I laughed so hard, I couldn't wait until I shared it with my friend. It was so funy, and a good story line. It's hard to create a good witch story, because there are so many cliche's out there.

Rachel wants to be one of those A-list people, you know the cool kids, like the new kids on the block. But when she finds out her sister has witch powers, and she doesn't she asks her sister to use some of her powers on her. But when they start playing around with the magic, to get their dad to fall in love with their mother yet again, things fall apart to pieces.

In Bras And Broomsticks, author Sarah Mlynowski introduces her readers to Rachel, an average fourteen-year-old girl interested in all the average things: shoes, popularity, boys...Everything a teenage girl is expected to like.

One day, however, Rachel discovers that her family is anything but average. When her mom makes the announcement, what comes out Rachel's mouth is, "I think you should consider returning to therapy." She can't believe what her mom is telling her. She is, however, eventually forced to accept the truth: her younger sister is a witch. Miri, apparently inherited magical powers from their mother, while Rachel did not.

While Rachel feels these skills are wasted on her sister, she also knows she can figure something out to convince Miri to use the powers for her older sister's benefit. There's a lot going on in Rachel's life. She wants to learn to dance and break up her father and the STBSM (Soon To Be Step-Monster), also known as Jennifer. Of course, those aren't the only ideas Rachel has for her sister's new abilities...

Bras And Broomsticks is a new twist on an old story. We've all read books or seen television shows on which the main character discovers that she has magical powers. In Sarah Mlynowski's novel, however, it's not the main character, Rachel--it's her younger sister!

Teenagers are sure to love this book, full of laughter and craziness. The characters are interesting and very well-developed, and the plot is great, too. Every part of this novel will have readers anxious to pick up the second book about Rachel and Miri, Frogs And French Kisses. Readers will love the heroine, Rachel, just as much as they'll love laughing about the complicated situations she gets herself into. Even girls whose sisters aren't witches (which, let's face it, is most of us) will be able to relate to Rachel, especially if they have younger sisters. Bras And Broomsticks will certainly be a favorite of readers for a long time, and have them craving more from Sarah Mlynowski!

I really enjoyed this magical book. It is about a girl who is very unpopular who finds out that her sister is a witch. Trying to ruin their dads marriage, become more popular, and causing hurt on other people causes this book to be a whirlwind of magic through this entire book.

Bras and Broomsticks is about a girl, Rachel, whose sister and mother are witches. She gets her sister to do many things for her using her magical powers (i.e. learn how to dance, zap away pimples). They work together to stop their dad's wedding.Little does she know, spells have consequences. This is a great book and I finished it 2 days.

who doesn't love a witchcraft story sets in modern days?especially when it's told it a funny way. but i love the fact that rachel isn't the one with the magic power. that's a great twist, making this one not a typical story.

Bras and Broomsticks is a cool book about Rachel and her sister, who is a witch. Rachel is extremely surprised when her mom and sister reveal they are witches and thinks it's a joke. Then, she sees that they are serious and starts brewing ideas. She can have anything she wants now! But when she convinces Miri to make her popular and destroy their dad's relationship with STB (soon-to-be-stepmonster) and come back to their mom, it doesn't exactly go the way she planned.

Bras and Broomsticks is HILARIOUS, and even has a fashion/dance show at the end! Even though Rachel is somewhat self-centered and stuck up and gets into trouble with Miri's spells, everything works out perfectly in the end, leaving you with a nice, warm feeling.

Put yourself in Rachel's shoes: Freshman year. That is enough to make any girl shudder (believe me I do it daily, and I won't be a fish for another month) but then she finds out that her sister AND mom are WITCHES! Plus her little sister won't even use her magic to help her poor big sister out with the whole I-wanna-be-popular-and-not-a-loser thing!! But Rachel finds a way to make her sister use her magic: on their unsuspecting soon to be step monster! I mean, what better way to use magic than to stop your dad from marrying an evil witch (no pun intended)?!!
This book rocks, and every girl can totally understand Rachel and Miri, witch or no witch!
