I Loved this book sooooo much......There is so much pain, and joy in every page turned. I have read this book 2 times simply, because it's wonderful. It's a story that will touch your heart and release a few tears (in my experience). I'm a fan of Ellen Hopkins' books and this is one of my favorites! Don't be intimidated by the size of the book-the pages are short and the words are beautifully arranged.

amazing! i love this author so much. and i have a few Mormon friends who felt this way too so it made me think of them and how much they didnt want to be apart of their religion but they didnt have any choice about leaving otherwise they risk loosing their family. and any problems between mom and dad were kept silent. i really think the author has so much insight on the religion and the feelings that go along with it. i had to stay up till 3 to see what would happen to the girl. and at 3 in the morning...i was devastated. twist endings are fantastic.

Pattyn is an amazing girl who is willing to fight for what she wants, even if it's differnt than the way other people fight. She finds the perfect guy and has an amazing summer, but then it gets crushed. One of my favorite books that is both heartwarming, and heartbreaking. READ!!!!!

I thought it was a great book. I fell in love with Ethan from the vary start. Reading both Pattyn going horse back riding. It made me want to jump on a hourse and do the same thing. Reading about her travl of love with Ethan reminded me why i fell in love with my boy. And, that he was my forever love. The ending i would have to say went by pretty fast and she could have done so much more with it.

Burned was an amazing book.its all in poems(but not rhyming so it doesnt annoy the crap out of you) so it goes so quick,  I read it in 2 days.  Its about a girl named Pattyn who has 7 sisters and an abusive father who hits her mom, but there very religous so they go to church all the time. Then Pattyn starts acting up pretty bad because her old boyfriend Derek (who was a jerk) breaks up with her. So then her parents send her to her aunts for the summer.  Att her aunts house she meets the boy of her dreams, Ethan.  Since Ethen isnt a Morman (her religous group) no one approves of their love.  Especially not Pattyns dad.(and by the way the aunt shes staying with, fell in love with a boy who wasn't a Mormon so Pattyns dad almost kiled him) and I'm not going to ruin the ending because its such a good book I want you to read it.

this was my favirote of ellen hopkins books. i learned alot about different relgions. i love how deep down it was a love story and a person trying to find her right in socety when everyone else was trying to protect her from doing it. ilove how rebelled on everything she grew up in and was suppose to belive in. but it was heart breaking the end when her love died and the only thing that connected her to him their baby.

She finally gets a taste what the real world is like with boys, and her father goes ballistic, and sends her off to live with her aunt. She meets a boy named Ethan, and they hit it off great. Keep in mind that she is only @her aunts for the summer. She finds, love, acceptance, and a sense of what family is supposed to be like with Ethan and her aunt. I loved this book. Ellen Hopkins writes in such a crative way. I love how it is in poem form. In this book the main character has a messed up family with a bajillion kids. Their religion believes that women are worthless. Her father sends her to go live with her aunt, because she has became such a hassle. I think that this book was amazing, but at the end it was so so sad. I think anyone who loved any of Ellen Hopkins other books or anyone who enjoys books that look long in length but are really quick reads would love this book. REad on

This story takes us from the highest highs of the character's life and drags the reader down until they reach the lowest of lows. Dark ad a page-turner, I was unable to stop. The main character goes through so many events and everyone is able to relate to at least one of the feelings she experiences.

The ending of the book is sure to leave readers screaming for a solution, where there is none. It's impossible to stop thinking about the novel once it is finished and even more impossible not to read it a second time in hopes that the ending will change.

Written in the beautiful style of verse, Ellen Hopkins captures the girl's heart and soul on the pages of this novel in such a way that every word strikes deep and leaves it's own mark in our brain, torturing us to read more until it has infected every part of your mind.

Teenager Patty begins to question the Mormon religion which she grew up with. The faith turns its back on women, and on the abuse that Patty's father brings to her and her sisters. Lashing out, Patty gets suspended and sent to her aunt's farm in Nevada. There, she learns about love. Burned, a free-verse novel, won't fail to keep you captivated.
