Nick and Zara are enjoying puppy love. Her father and his pixies are trapped and the pixie activity is at a minimum. When Zara finds a pixie chained to a tree and injured she frees him and saves him. He explains that he's a king and other king's are on there way to try and take over her father's territory. He also seems interested in Zara. When tragedy strikes, Zara will become the very thing she despises.
Astley and Norse myths interest anyone who was dissatisfied with Need.

Zara and her friends knew they hadn't solved the pixie problem for good. Far from it. The king's needs grow deeper every day he's stuck in captivity, while his control over his people gets weaker. It's made him vulnerable. And now there's a new king in town.

A turf war is imminent, since the new pixie king, Astley, is moving in quickly. Nick nearly killed him in the woods on day one, but Zara came to his rescue. Astley swears that he and Zara are destined to be together, that he's one of the good guys. Nick isn't buying it, though Zara isn't as sure -- despite herself, she wants to trust the new king. But it's a lot more than her relationship with Nick that is at stake. It's her life -- and his.

I really enjoyed reading Captivate by Carrie Jones! As this book was the second book in the Need series, quite a bit more information about the pixies was revealed, which for me made the book more interesting. I especially liked the snippets from the How To Survive A Pixie Invasion handbook that was being written during this book by Zara, Devyn, Nick and Issie, (which I enjoyed a lot more than the previous phobias – which were toned down in Captivate). I love the cover of this book! The golden theme is continued, in Need her lips were golden whereas, in this book her tear and her eyelid is golden. Captivate’s cover is more sombre that the previous one due to its contents, but the shimmering golden is still representing Zara’s pixie heritage.

Not sure I liked this anymore than I did the first book but it still sparked my interest enough to continue reading the series.  Now that Zara and her friends have all the pixies trapped, more pixies from around the world are heading to their town to take over as Pixie King and rule the territory! One of the pixies that show up is Astley, he seems charming and nice but can you really trust a pixie?!  Astley and the other new pixies are trying to capture Zara and want to take down anyone in their way.

This story at times is frustrating to me but still enjoyable.  I thought there was a lot more that could have happened that didn't.  A lot of unnecessary side stories going on and some of the story just didn't seem to flow very well.  The side story about Devyn, Cassidy, and Issie really annoyed me but that is just my personal opinion.  The things I liked about it though was the new addition of Astley, I still can't figure out whether to trust him or not but his character is just fascinating to me.  I also enjoyed the little bits of romance between Zara and Nick but I wish their relationship developed more.  I enjoyed the action and suspense also!  I still think the story is very unique and creative and have to say that I am going to continue reading because I have to find out what happens!!
