Torak is only 12 moons old when he is forced to embark on one of the hardest, most dangerous adventures anyone could face.  He and he Fa lived isolated in the woods his whole life.  Then, one day, a giant bear attacked, leaving Torak an orphan.  Now, he must go to the Spirit Mountain with his guide, a young wolf, to destroy the demon-possessed bear.  Will he succeed?

Wolf Brother is a good read.  There are no major flows.  However, it is not exactly exciting.  Although it is a short novel, it moves too slow.  The animals and the customs make the story much more interesting.  I am now reading the second book, which seems to be better.  The reading level is fourth grade, but I would recommend it for fifth to seventh grade.
