This book takes a time jump of six years, so now Evra is a young man while Darren looks around one year older. Thus they aren't as close as they used to be in the third book. Every twelve years, the Council meets at Vampire Mountain, and Mr. Crepsley has decided it's time to present Darren to them. Upon arriving, one of Mr Tiny's Little People delivers a dire warning about the Lord of the Vampaneze. Then it's Darren's turn to see the Council, who are made up of the Vampire Princes. They are upset that Darren has been made a half-vampire at so young, as that's something they have not done in nearly a century. Darren now has to take on strenuous trials to prove himself, which are created to be troublesome for full blooded vampires. There is no going back for Darren. The choice is now to pass the trails and live among the vampires as an equal or die.

Cirque Du freak book 4 is awesome! throughout this book I could almost ignore ALL Darren Shan's writing flaws! It starts out kinda boring but, once you get into it, it works itself out and you end up loving it! There is a part in it that i DID NOT expect! but it explains A LOT! Lol! If you read this book i promise you'll like it just try to ignore it's flaws like I did! AND I HONESTLY DON'T WANT ANY OFFENCE TOWARD DARREN SHAN, LOVE HIS BOOKS BUT I THINKI THEY COULD BE BETTER!

Really good! Larten Crepsley leads Darren into a mysterious mountain known only to the vampires...and Mr. Tiny...
But the question is: is Crepsley leading Darren to the mountain? Or is he unknowingly leading him to something greater? Or maybe...his death?

Meet Darren Shan, a half-vampire. Darren must reach Vampire Mountain before its too late. The Vampire Princes meet at this mountain, every 12 years. Which means, if Darren wants to be accepted by the vampire race, he must get up there as soon as possible.

Vampire Mountain is very good. It is written more towards the interests of teenagers. This book is filled with horror and adventure, and the ending is very shocking. I would have to have to say, this is Darrens
