It's snowy cold in the town of Toby Mills. The thermometer is sinking toward zero, and the icicle hanging from the nose of General Toby's statue is growing closer to the ground. The newspaper headline reads "COLD SNAP!" The people of the town are losing hope—and the feeling in their toes—until the mayor's wife saves the day with a toasty treat.

Cold Snap is a story about a town in the cold winter. Every day the temperature gets colder and the townspeople are trying to stay warm. Finally, the mayor's wife plans a special event that brings the whole town together.

One of my favorite parts of this book was the first few pages that showed how the children of the town were excited and playing in the snow. It reminded me of how excited I used to get when I was little. I would want to be outside in the snow all day. Just like the children in the book, I would come inside cold and wet and wanting some hot chocolate to drink.

This is a fun winter story that I will definitely use in my classroom and read to my own children. I love the glitter and texture on the cover and the illustrations have a charming vintage feel to them. This would be a great addition to a classroom library.
