Cookie Time follows Kat and Ari who love cookie time with Grandpa and his dog, Biscuit. The only problem is that it is tough to wait for the cookies to be ready so they decide a time machine is the perfect solution to their problem. The only issue with this is that they can’t seem to get sent to the right time period, they go too far ahead or too far into the past. Eventually, this gets tiring and they just want to go home back to Grandpa, will they get there? Is waiting the best part about cookie time?

What I Liked: The cover of this book caught my attention as these children seem to be in a creation of their own but the title says Cookie Time therefore I was interested in seeing how those would be related. The author infuses humor throughout the book as something always goes wrong when Kat and Ari are selecting the time period and they end up going back and forth within time periods that are not what they are seeking.

The images in this story go perfectly with the few words that are on each page. The pacing of the book is great as it goes back and forth in time and you get to watch the development of each of the characters through time. The ending of the book was sweet and cute in that we got to see both of the children recognize their actual favorite part about cookie time and how different it was from what they thought.

Final Verdict: Cookie Time is a fun book that teaches children the importance of patience and spending time with family and friends. Children will laugh as Kat and Ari go on an adventure through various time periods because of the dog’s interference or a toy's interference.
