Guys. Hey guys. Psssssssst.

We have a cover reveal for you today! Plus a chance to get your greedy-reading hands on an advanced copy long before anyone else.

Meagan Spooner’s SHADOWLARK!

But first, a message from Meagan:

Hellooooo YABC! I’m so excited to be here—welcome to the exclusive cover reveal for SHADOWLARK, the sequel to my debut, SKYLARK!

So someone at my publisher has telepathically deduced a list of my absolute favorite colors, and matched them up PERFECTLY with the subject matter of each of my books. SKYLARK is a dark, magical book about a headlong flight through a forest in a world warped by magic and haunted by shadows—and its purple, ethereal-yet-shadowy cover was perfect for the story.

SHADOWLARK is an even darker, even more haunted story about a city within a city within a city, built of broken down machines and ancient ruins. It’s even shadowier, too, as Lark faces the unwelcome choice between finding out what happened to her long-lost brother and helping a struggling people overthrow their ruthless leader. This cover is green and crumbly, combining the machine aesthetic with the darkness of underground tunnels, and I just love it.

I hope you do too!

~ Meagan

Ok, that sounds amazing. Especially the “city within a city within a city.” I’m already sold, and I haven’t even revealed the cover yet!

Ok, that tunnel or walkway? I need to be exploring it RIGHT NOW. And can I just mention how much I love the name Lark? Killer. Here’s a bit about SHADOWLARK:

Ever since she escaped the city within the Wall, Lark Ainsley’s wanted one thing: to find her brother Basil. She’s always believed he would be the one to put an end to the constant fear and flight. And now, hidden underground in the chaotically magical city of Lethe, Lark feels closer to him than ever.

But Lethe is a city cowering in fear of its founder, the mysterious Prometheus, and of his private police force. To get the truth about what happened to Basil, Lark has no choice but to face Prometheus.

Facing her fears has become second nature to Lark. Facing the truth is another matter.

Lark never asked to be anyone’s savior. She certainly never wanted to be anyone’s weapon. She might not have a choice.
